Eleanor S. Bradley
Eleanor S. Bradley, age 82, of Halifax, passed away Wednesday, March, 9, 2016 at Our Community Hospital in Scotland Neck.
Mrs. Bradley was born April 17, 1933 and grew up in the town of Weldon. She graduated from Weldon High School where she met the love of her life, Vernon T. Bradley. They were married for sixty years until Vernon passed away in 2009. They were an incredible team, working together to create one of the most successful real estate businesses in North Carolina. She was always his greatest inspiration and advisor.
Eleanor loved to travel and see new places. She was a wonderful cook and homemaker. She was a kind, gentle person and a friend to everyone. Eleanor was also a loyal member of the Halifax Methodist Church where she sang in the choir for many years. She donated to many charities and worthy causes. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon T. Bradley. Left behind to cherish her memory is her brother, John R. Stevenson and his wife, Alice G. Stevenson of Newport News Virginia; her son, Vernon T. Bradley Jr. and his wife, Brenda T. of Halifax; and her grandchildren, Vernon T. Bradley III and Ashton L. Bradley, both of Halifax. Mrs. Bradley will also leave behind several nieces and nephews.
Ricky Pierce and his wife, Delores, their children, Eric Pierce and Amanda Causey were like family to Mrs. Bradley and very special to her. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Mrs. Bradley’s funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 13, 2016 at the Halifax United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Formo officiating.
Entombment will follow in the Halifax Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 12, 2016 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at Askew Funeral & Cremation Services.
